The atonement covered both sin and sickness (Is 53: 5). Jesus went
around preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and
sickness amongst the people. (Matt 4:23) Francis McNutt has written a book called 'The nearly Perfect
Crime', the story of how the church's healing ministry nearly got killed. But
today, God is breaking out again, demonstrating how much he loves people, and
that salvation is for the whole person. Is there unity among the people on this important subject? Are
you publicly praying for the sick? Are you seeing any evidence of healing,
whether the miraculous of gradual restoration? Today, this is the single most important way that people come
into the kingdom - they know that God loves them, when he heals them. This programme will give your church a
sound foundation and practical ways of praying with those who are sick to see
healing. Jesus command was to 'go and make disciples' (Matt 28:19).
Although the concept was well known the world Jesus lived in, it isn't any
longer, but we cannot be 'conformed to this world' if we are going to fulfil the purpose God has for our lives. It was
disciples who he called to bring in the kingdom. We have many pastors, but not many disciplers!
Disciples are learners. They change as they learn. They do what God asks them
to do and are willing to make themselves accountable to someone they trust. But how can Christians become disciples? How can they know their
purpose, their destiny and embrace it? This programme helps Christians become
disciples. Leadership is critical in the local church community at every
level. It is more about who you are rather than what you do. So, it isn't
primarily about running a home group, or managing an outreach team. It's
about having a vision, knowing authority, being in front, often taking risks
and sometimes being willing to admit failure. Growth can't happen without leadership, and it is God's purpose
that his people grow. Unfortunately, organisational
leadership doesn't automatically ensure spiritual leadership, which means
that you may have people in positions of leadership who aren't really
leaders. What do you do? How can leaders be identified and how can they
be equipped? Where does the concept of servanthood
come in? This programme will
enable you to identify and assess current leadership, then equip and empower
them for the kingdom.
